Description: PLEASE VISIT MY WIFE'S EBAY SITE- "TRUCKDEAL"- ALSO! WE'LL BOTH BE SURE YOU'RE IN GREAT HANDS!! Here is another old item from my antique collection!! Displayed by my fireplace with fire extinguishers and railroad lanterns! This axe is in unusually good shape for its intended or apparent use...... Although some of the paint is chipped or had flaked off, it seems to be original to the axe.....it does not have evidence of a repaint job. The handle haft near the head has overspray which probably occurred at the factory. Bet of all, the edge seems to have the original ground finish. It doesn't have any nicks which would almost certainly occur soon after its first use, from hitting metal, nails, or cement from mis-swings. The paint does not have any scratches or gouges expected from use. It doesn't seem to have any secondary grinder marks from a resharpening by any hand method! The handle does not seem to have any dents, gouging, splintering, or dent marks! It would almost certainly have some just from swinging the head and missing the mark, or going through something and contacting the handle below the head! So, overall, it seems to have had very limited use, if any at all! It was an actual fire department pickaxe, and came from an Ohio fire department many years ago! Very nice shape!!......I lightly sanded the edges of the head due to normal rust from long exposure to ordinary humidity! 36 inches long! Mike
