Description: Here we have a truly rare early pre-ranger Eko J56, of the first edition design circa 1965 This stager sports the unusual and rather tasty looking birdseye maple back and sides, contrasted with the gloss black neck, looks amazing! Made in comparatively low numbers and very rarely seen for re-sale, don't miss! We left the guitar in unrestored original condition, please note there are prior maintenance repairs and weatherings as follows There has been a pickup installed at some point and the original endpin has been sealed with a dowel sometime prior, the machine heads have also been replaced on the journey with equally rare 'Gibson Deluxe' Kluson six-in-line tuners. Bridge saddle has been re-made to accommodate a fixed saddle arrangement for enhanced tone, and the guitar sounds really a lot better for this - all these features are reversible. There are typical Eko lacquer cracks and checks.Playability very good, and the guitar is ready to play, a setup and re-string is recommended and we will do that if asked As the author of a book on vintage Eko acoustics I can say that this style of guitar with the maple body is really very hard to find, and of course the guitar makes an appearance in the forthcoming book - a limited copy is reserved for the buyer. Please check our other Eko stock, new inventory added daily. Thanks and best regards ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
