Description: Dorothy Kindell's stripper mugs came as a set of six which showed a progressive striptease starting with a lady in full evening dress and ending with a fully nude figure draped over a barrel. Decorative bands across top and bottom of barrel. The set was glazed in a light beige and the dresses were glazed in a variety of colors (black, red, green or white). Matching nude figures can also be seen on a variety of her other ceramics ranging from pitchers to salt and pepper shakers. The Black Dress is the rarest of the colors to be found. This set is the first four of the six. All have the stamped "Dorothy Kindell" signature as well as the Circle C on the bottom. This is the truest mark of authenticity that indicates that they are original Dorothy Kindell mugs and not some of the Japanese knockoffs that were made in later years. The Japanese mugs are collectible as well but not as desirable as these originals.
