Description: A very scarce Pathe Club Membership pinback badge. Best part is the wonderful depiction of the very collectible Pathe Rooster! Made in St. Louis, MO by the St. Louis Button Company. Colors are red, white, and blue... some slight discoloring with age but nothing unexpected for a pin of this age. Some foxing, discoloration, but the manufacturer's sticker on the back is still there. Please see the photographs for detail. This auction is for one pin. UPDATE! A wonderful eBayer has assisted me in narrowing the possibilities of this pinback's source. He has deduced this pin was likely made for a cinema enthusiast club and possible Pathe Cinema employees in New York City. As the rooster logo was dropped in the late 1940's and his research found mention of a Pathe Movie Club having dinners in New York City around 1927. These were identified in trade magazines and newspapers. Quite a bit of research and use of entertainment knowledge history from this fine gentleman has me convinced that this is where the pin came from. I had been wondering if it was related to Pathe's recording and phonograph ( Pathephone ) business, but now I pretty much know. THANK YOU!
