EARTH OPERA- -Elektra records 1968--EKS-74016

Description: EARTH OPERA--self titled album released in 1968 by Elektra-#EKS 74016. This is a unusual album and was the first studio album by Earth Opera. (Sometimes they opened for the Doors). Peter Rowan joined Seatrain in 1973. David Grisman was a member of the Even Dozen Jug Band with Maria Muldaur and John Sebastian in the early 1960's. This group featured Peter Rowan and David Grisman, who made their solo careers in much different genres than this record which is their attempt at the psych/acid/soft folky feeling music that was kind of experimental at that time. Kudos to Elektra for cutting this record and reaching for direction. We like and understand it after a couple of spins over the last month. We think this is a record you have to listen to from 1968. We cleaned the record using a Spin Clean MK2 record cleaner with distilled water. We play tested both sides using our Audio Technica ATLP120XUSB turntable. After cleaning and playing this record we rate it a VG+ (using Goldmine rating) It is glossy, no background noise--VG+. We put the record in a new black paper inner sleeve for protection. The original Elektra inner sleeve pictured will ship with the record. Also included is a rare Elektra record marketing fold out, listing many of the records they had on the market at the time, very cool and rare. We have not seen many of these. We will ship the record securely packed in a cardboard record mailer using USPS media mail rates. We think this is a record you would enjoy--take a listen and pass it on to another if you want to.
