The primary small arms rifle ammunition used by the U.S. during WWII was the .30 caliber round produced for the M1903 Springfield and M1 Garand. The ammunition came packaged in 20-round boxes, or cloth bandoleers. The bandoleer provided a means of carrying ammunition in an easily accessible manner. A protective cardboard sleeve covered the bullet tips to prevent tearing of the bandoleer fabric, and there were three different versions of sleeve used with the 8-round clips during the war. The first and second versions were tall, similar to that used with the 5 round clips. Mid-war a notch was added to the second version sleeve, making it easier to grasp the clips for removal. The late war version was shortened so that it only covered the rounds and not the clip, and this version was used until the end of .30-06 production.Each "Buy It Now" single purchase is for one mid-war bandoleer restoration kit for the M1 Garand.
