Description: Here we have a versatile individual bowl (for soup, cereal, salad) with a distinctive rolled edge from Bennington Pottery's Agate White on White pattern. Handmade earthenware with an agate-like glaze. Made in Bennington, Vermont. Marked No. 1915?ad, with the ? possibly being just a symbol, or the letter a, c or e. Very fresh and clean, with some very light silver/gray utensil marks around the inside of the bowl at the bottom--variations in the agate glaze make these marks very hard to see, so they blend in just fine except under very close examination. No other damage from use, no chips, cracks, scratches, stains, or crazing. One of-a-kind piece of art pottery with variations in texture, measurements, glaze application, etc., that are inherent in this type of pottery. Specifically, there is a glaze pop along the rim, as well as an unglazed spot that is gray in color, which looks like a scuff mark, but is clearly, in real life, just a spot that the glaze missed.
